Duncan Brown – Lay Leader in Country Church
Duncan Brown shares what he loved about using Encounter with his congregation in country Queensland. He said that as a lay-led church, January is a difficult time and so to have a ‘plug and play’ series for this time enabled his church to engage with quality material while the leadership had a break.
In this video, he also shares the story of a single mum who went on to share the series with her teenage sons. They watched the series together and discussed the content. It was a really significant resource that empowered her to speak with her boys about Jesus.
Nathan Harris – Senior Pastor of Large Metropolitan Church
Nathan Harris and his church used Encounter as a church-wide series across every service, congregation, and ministry area. More than 4,000 people engaged through Sunday services, and over 90 small groups used the material. The series also ran through their children’s, youth, and young adults ministries, all exploring stories of people who met Jesus – both in the Bible and today.
